MANAGEMENT
HUMANA CHILD AID SOCIETY OF SABAH (REG. OF SOCIETY 123/96), (herewith referred to as "Humana"), a non-profit non-governmental organisation company incorporated in Malaysia and having an office at Lot 37, MDLD 6057, Lorong Perdana 3, Bandar Sri Perdana, 91100 Lahad Datu, has been appointed to coordinate, operate and manage CERC.
Humana is an established non-profit non-governmental organisation engaged in providing education to thousands of children in the State of Sabah, who live in plantations and other remote areas far from schools.
CERC was handed over to Humana on 1st October 2009 and is expected to commence operation soon.
EDUCATION AND TRAINING
CERC will provide support classes to the local children, mainly "Orang Sungai", in the field of Bahasa Malaysia, Mathematics, Science, English and Information Technology (IT). This will enhance the academic skills of the local children from nearby public primary schools to provide them a better chance to be selected for public secondary boarding school. It will also provide basic education to the children of foreign plantation workers in that area who are not enrolled in the public schools.
CERC-THE PRIDE OF CGB
CGB is proud to support Humana's objective of providing education to thousands of children in the State of Sabah, who live in plantations and other remote areas far from schools. CGB takes great pride in knowing that CERC may help educate and eventually improve the lives of many in Segaliud, Kinabatangan, Sabah.
CGB is also proud that its associated company, MHC Plantations Bhd, is currently constructing another Education Resource Center in Simpang Pulai, Perak on the way to Cameron Highland for the local "Orang Asli' community.
Visit by United Nations Children's Fund ("UNICEF")
In October 2011, CERC was visited by a UNICEF representative, Mr. Hans Olsen. During the visit, Mr. Hans Olsen had expressed his concern regarding stateless children who have no right to basic services such as education, especially those who stay in plantations.
He was impressed to see what Cepatwawasan through CERC has to offer to the children living in and around its plantation.
CERC provides a learning environment for kids living in the rural area. Cepatwawasan believes that children deserve the right to learn and to be exposed to the intellectual world. After all, Education is the most powerful tool which one can use to change one's destiny and the world.
